It seems more consistent as heavy convective rain (12 mm in one hour shown in purple ) does not lead to exclamation marks in Basic panel.

We (meteorologists) use this symbol 16076151-31b7-48b1-9490-6d36cdebb281-εικόνα.png (an inverted triangle)
for convective precipitation.
