Strange SO2 profiles
-
I have been monitoring SO2 pollution maps in our area for some time now. From time to time the SO2 values completely change from one hour to the next: i.e. see below! Within an hour the average value across the area goes from 25-30 mg/m2 at 3pm to < 1mg/m2 at 4pm and then the next hour it is back to 25-30 mg/m2 at 5pm. See the sequence below.

How is this possible? This seems to happen regularly in CAMS forecasting?
Why would this happen?
Any thoughts? -
@dmbakker Unfortunately, I cannot access those images. However, we get this data from the provider (forecast model) and we cannot do much with it.

Thank you for your reply. I have uploaded the images.

@dmbakker
Your second screenshot is not showing the SO2 layer. These are the colors of the Wind layer.
But I don’t know why you get a wrong legend in the bottom right corner of your screen (CAMS model and SO2 color scale). So there is a glitch.
The weather picker is not displayed. So we don’t know what it would display. -
Thank you for that. Now I'll be on the lookout for these glitches.
