I agree that a "drone safe flight layer" would be great.
Electromagnetic disturbances risk forecast and realtime measure / KP¨index, cloud base (visibility), rain (radar), restricted flight zones (many countries implemented that in SIG solutions) with max flight altitude are some of the things drone pilots need.
Quite the datas from UAV Forecast, but the windy (better) way !Set a location and time period for the flight and get all these informations at once !

I know they are hard to predict but there is some great real time data out there that could make a great map overlay. What’s your thoughts 💭

I think Windy needs Aurora forcast map. Even it wouldn't reach the most of people on Earth it would be very interesting little add for those who lives near places to see those incredible lights.

I see a direct competitor using NOAA data for displaying auroras.

@TommiR, I completely agree with your observation. Living in the UK, I have also noticed the increasing frequency of Aurora Borealis sightings. It would be incredibly beneficial if Windy could incorporate an overlay feature to visualize and comprehend the timing, location, and intensity of this phenomenon.

Could you possibly do a northern hemisphere in Aurora Borealis is it already in the app I could you possibly add space weather telling us whether or not we're going to get X flares or geomagnetic storms or magnetic fields radiation enhancement tells us whether or not we're going to get a radiation storm

but having a new map on windy with northenlights mix with cloudiness will be great !!many thanks.

I am a premium user of your app, and i am extremely happy to say how good this program/app is very useful for us to see weather forcast through so much layers and satellite.
I am making request if possible can you add Northern light/Borealis or Aurora map as well. This will helps us to look weather and as well as some entertainment in same app.

Hi, thanks so much for your interest! We don’t currently offer forecasts of values related to aurora visibility (such as the Kp index) in the app. However, since we’re excited about the idea ourselves, we’ll be happy to add an aurora forecast feature as soon as possible. Thanks for the suggestion!
