Position update rate for ship observations

I plan daily operations on a ship, and we also report weather data that shows up on your map (as a buoy, WTEB). Right now, the position of the station marker is located where we were a little over a day ago. I am curious what the update rate for these positions is on the map, and if it could be increased.
