I recently subscribed to Windy after starting to use the free version more and more. I now subscribe to three weather services. One of the things I thought I was getting with a subscription was high definition weather maps. The best word I can think of to describe what I am seeing is 'blurry'. I thought this was just something they did in the free version to encourage people to subscribe but it seems they are all like it?

Below is an example of what I mean. I'm looking at the UKV model of the occlusion/squall forecast for the early hours of Monday morning. On Netweather and TheWeatherOutlook you can clearly see it is a narrow but very intense band that weakens as it goes East. On Windy it's difficult to discern any detail at all.

I am so disappointed I am tempted to believe it's a error. Is there something I should have done to turn the detail up. Or is this what everyone sees?

On Windy maps, all models are showing rain for 3 hours.

In your screenshot with the UKV model, the rainfall is predicted for one hour. That explains the difference.

I am accessing via Chrome web browser on PC. When I review my account details it says I am subscribed?

Yes, you paid via Paddle, but did you "restore the purchase" as explained in the message I mentioned?

Do you see the Premium badge above the menu button?

Can you get hourly forecasts in the detailed forecast panel, and not just 3-hour intervals?

Are the maps in colour after 6 days of forecasts?

I am 100% subscribed. I see the Premium badge above the menu, I have 1h intervals, everything is in colour. This is not the problem.

I think you already explained the problem in your other post - the maps only show a 3h window. All the other services I use show an instant rate (or 1hr accumulation) which make it possible to see the detail. If it's not possible to switch the Windy maps to less than 3hrs they will be forever 'blurry'. Which is a pity because it severely limits their value.

OK, but it is strange that you are not identified as Premium user on the community forum. Your posts are queued and wait for moderator approval whereas Premium users have a direct access.

                I can’t explain this choice.

I managed to achieve some slightly better results by customising the colour gradients. I noticed that the default palette had very little difference in colours below about 10mm. I've chosen very contrasting colours that look garish but show more detail. Here is the custom setting if anyone wants to use it.

                  [[0,[111,111,111,255]],
                  [1,[166,176,199,255]],
                  [2,[83,136,222,255]],
                  [3,[101,150,62,255]],
                  [6,[242,205,81,255]],
                  [8,[232,138,90,255]],
                  [10,[214,92,92,255]],
                  [15,[161,77,77,255]],
                  [20,[232,232,232,255]],
                  [40,[162,117,204,255]]]
