Testers wanted: Weather radar USA!
-
@ivo I am not sure how much technical knowledge one needs to be a tester, but as a member of Michigan Geographic Alliance, and a teacher trainer, It would be neat to make use of this for students or share with other members. Lessons can be created and material are given free to teachers from the teacher trainers in the Alliance. There are alliances in every state and they were all stated with seed money from National Geographic. What do you think?

Great feature Ivo. For the "on click" It just says "Weather Radar" and then beneath the option for the "forecast for this location". Might be nice in the future to give something more... Maybe wind direction?

It is a great feature. I live in Orlando, FL and watched the Hurricane Irma made land fall on Keys. All three models were predicting Irma would hit Tampa. That is, lesser impact on Orlando. However, the radar is showing straight northward path now. I think the Hurricane Center should update their prediction soon. I like the long hour record the best, since it shows clear path of the storm. However, the iPhone and iPad version of radar are kind of hit-and-miss missing images.

@JentheGeek Could be, there is definitely difference between having image composites and raw data (we prefer raw data as you have much more freedom in how to process and display them), but free image composite is still better than nothing ! Read more about this topic here and feel free to contribute as well. Thanks for your suggestion !

@chstdu Thank you very much for the useful info !! Multiple people from Germany already mentioned this, it is on our priority list. This kind of "movement" makes us really happy since most EU countries still don't provide their data for free. We already have EU radar prototype covering few countries, but it will take more time until it is ready to go public.

Awesome app and this new feature really enables it all to be brought together with the rain radar, etc. Congratulations.
When will you incorporate Australia?? :-)
-
Wind overlay to match the time line would make even more useful.

Excellent product! I love the fact that you are constantly building a better tool and this radar addition is very helpful. I do see some variation in presentation/functionality in different browsers - Google Chrome vs Firefox (OSX10.11.6) but overall Windy.com is great. I recommend it to our scientific boaters routinely.
One burning question - does the goat have a name? -
@J.D. No name of the goat.
-
I can't see the radar feature with google chrome browser!
-
@rkopper How about other browsers (e.g. safari, firefox) ? Then again, this sounds like a be problem with WebGL :/ it would be helpful if you could provide some more details, but thanks anyway for the feedback.

@orlandoradar I'm interested in learning more about the Cuba radars and the availability of the data in NEXRAD Level II format. Could you please direct message me?
