The default model in Windy (ECMWF) was forecasting 22mph as mean wind, but 56mph (90km/h) as wind gusts. Just one of these gusts is enough to bring down trees and signs.
And other models forecasted at same time:
HRRR 60mph (96km/h)
NAM 63mph (101km/h)
GFS 71mph (114km/h)
ICON 78mph (125km/h) ! -

I just re-upped my subscription and WHAAAT. I got hit with 2 trashcans going 30mph downwind in Anaconda and windy shows 15? The trashcans were doing 40! WTF? -

Yes, because you look at Wind instead of Wind gusts !
Wind is the mean wind over 10 minutes.
