Snow flakes on radar

The snowflakes obscure the color gradations, making it much harder to get a handle on the intensity. You have a precipitation type layer that serves the purpose without distracting from one of the main features of the radar image.
Please remove them.

Precipitation type layer is based on precipitation forecast by weather model, not observation. -
@Suty you should at least add an option for premium users to turn it off. I want to look at a radar, not wrapping paper..

@Pkrash and most others in the thread. Wanting to know the precipitation type is not a " FAIL" even if this implementation doesn't look great. This has been done well by other sites (eg Netweather.tv/live-weather/radar - turn Weather On) where different colours are used to indicate precipitation type and colour intensity used to indicate amount of ppt. Windy should consider something like this

It’s not a fail. They can just make it better. Or give us the option to turn off it. In general it’s useful

I agree. Radar should be radar. If folks want graphics over their radar that should be a layer people can select/deselect.

@Suty well I’m from up north. I can tell when it’s snowing. Radar does absolutely no good with snowflakes Can I get a refund! Oh by the way 4️⃣ thumbs down to the moron that thought up this idea…. Well I won’t be recommending this app !!!

Hey, calling other users names isn’t helpful. The radar idea itself is actually great, it’s just not executed very well, and the interface could definitely be improved. They could even add an option to enable or disable the layer. There’s no need to insult people. And honestly, if you don’t renew or recommend the app, do you really think the admins would care that much?

@Pkrash Hello, we are planning to offer an option to turn this feature off in our upcoming update, so the user can choose if use or not this precipitation type on the radar data.

@Suty Thank you for listening to the feedback! I had cancelled my subscription because earlier it was indicated that there was no discussion to implement the option to turn this layer off. I know I'm just one lowly subscriber, but I'll definitely come back once this is addressed.

@Suty Well, that's disappointing. As it has rendered the feature I most reference in your (otherwise excellent) app, almost useless to me.
The details within the color gradients of the radar image are no longer visible, so it's significantly reduced it's value.
I posted elsewhere that a toggle to turn off the precipitation overlay or a slider to reduce it's intensity would be a viable alternative.
Alas...
My subscription ran out a month before this "improvement"...I guess it's good I didn't renew. -
