Help Us Test a New Version of Windy.com
-
zooming works way faster, looks good on all items I have checked. Windows 10, hardware is mostly 5 year old, use it for gaming, I'll try it on Linux versions later today and add to this post.

I just tried doing a 'walk through' of the new Beta version of Windy.
Everything looks the same as current version? I didn't notice or find anything that looked different.
I still can't find how to get the Isobars to display atmospheric pressure.
Many thanks

@GraemeRy
Bottom RH corner above the model choices there is a switch for Pressure

new version is excellent

Zooming works better, and otherwise I saw no changes. 2020 mid grade Windows Gaming computer on Firefox.

I suggest you concentrate on your forecasting algorithms. Windy totally missed the 24 inches )610 cm) of snowfall in NE Massachusetts, USA. As I recall, the prediction was for 4 inches (10 cm). Very embarrassing (or should be).

Works very smoothly

Does not work well for me and Mozila :)

New version is much better, occasionally I would get blank sections when zooming or panning

@Emil-Boy Hello, unfortunately, we cannot see the image. Could you please elaborate on this a bit or share the screenshot once again?

Thanks. Using Edge it´s better. So far no errors.
-
And using duckduckgo also better, faster and no white blocks anymore.

Hi!
It looks great!
Right now I'm using- Chrome Version 144.0.7559.109 (Official Build) (64-bit)
- on Windows 11 Home 25H2 build 26200.7623
(Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.275.0) - on an Asus ZenBook UX425EA
- 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1135G7 @ 2.40GHz (2.42 GHz)
- Installed RAM 8,00 GB (7,70 GB usable)
- 128 MB Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics
And all I tried - though still not much - delivered quite nice.
However, this is not my usual system.
As long as time allows it, I intend to test the Beta over the - about 30 - different scenarios as follows
- Ubuntu/Fedora/Windows
- Chrome/Firefox/Edge/(...).
- Several Devices with different specs
Best regards

love the old school detail of wavewatch iii
they killed this on purpose

Makes absolutely no difference in performance.
Took a video, but your bug report form maxes out at 20MB, which is fine for pictures but NO video can be uploaded that small that's useful.

The testing version is cool and works fine on my PC.
Still waiting for a font size option, especially for the mobile app though.
I'm glad to pay for the app guys but I turn 50 this year and can't see a shit without glasses (I don't wear them on my kayak). Please do something about this, I know many people already asked for it.
Pleeeeease!

Hi @ivo,
After playing around with the new version, it does not run as well on my setup (certainly not as smooth as the GIFs shared).
Zooming in and out of an area visually stays fuzzy loaded while everything catches up. I see the difference compared to the old in that everything outside the zoom area is gray until it loads. The old version (on my setup) is slightly faster but it's not a massive difference.
Granted I may be an outlier on an older PC at this point. Specs are as follows:
- Processor: i5-8250U
- RAM: 8GB
- Graphics: Integrated/Shared
It's a Surface Pro 6.
