New Doppler Radar in DR
-
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on the excellent service you provide to the communities and to weather enthusiasts. Your platform is extremely valuable for monitoring and analyzing weather conditions in our country.
I would also like to kindly request that you integrate the new Santo Domingo Doppler Radar into your system. Currently, only the two previous radars of the Dominican Republic are displayed, so I understand that it may be necessary to update or refresh the link from which the data is obtained.
To facilitate the update, I am including below two official links where you can find information about the radar:
I appreciate your attention and your prompt response in advance.
Wishing you an excellent day. -
@alexitososa Hello and thank you for your post and sources. I already forwarded this to our colleague, responsible for the radar coverage, to evaluate these.

HI @alexitososa, thank you for letting us know. I've added the radar site.
Let me add a little bit of background. We're currently using Barbados Weather as our source of radar data for DR.
Mostly because radar-met2.sna.gob.do previously proved to be an unreliable source.Part of data seems to be missing on Barbados Weather, but I believe it is only mis-configuration (the data is actually there, the coverage just doesn't include new radar site):

This also means that we mark part of the data as missing (SSW from DR):
.Currently, it is hard to say if the data is actually missing.
If, in the future, we find out that the data is actually missing, I'll figure out a different approach. -
Hi,
A few days ago I had suggested adding the third radar from the Dominican Republic. I know you did, but it turns out it shows as unavailable on Windy, since it says "No data." I know you take your source from Barbadosweather because it works very well. I just want to see if you can add the new one somehow. I’m sending you two screenshots so you can notice the difference. On the official site, the precipitation is reflected, but on Windy it is not.
