Prior to Starlink using windy offshore for boats was impossible. It used too much data.
However, now it is possible but you have to keep online to view windy and switch between different times / days.
If there was a way to download a set of data and then view it offline, that would be wonderful. We could then open Starlink, download 5 days of wind data and log off Starlink.
Then we could trawl through the wind forecasts carefully, looking over it, relooking over it and making our passage adjustments. This is how traditional weather apps for offshore sailors work such as the “offshore” app by predicting wind. And it’s that app which most currently use offshore. But wouldn’t it be great if we could do it in Windy. Perhaps a premium member function.

@northcave Hello, unfortunately, there is no plan to offer the offline mode again. There were some intentions and projects 2 years ago but without success on the end of users.
