      @jasons47
      What is not matching?
      Because you see one rain drop plus 2 snow flakes in the widget compared to 6 snow flakes in the forecast timeline?
      What is really inconsistent?

        @idefix37 Yes, that is what I was referring to. They are completely different.

          I am seeing the same thing. Emailed support on Friday but haven’t heard back yet. The lock screen widget and app seem to show the same and the Home Screen widgets show something different.

            @jasons47

            Is it so crucial? On the widget I get only 1 rain drop and 2 in the timeline? What is right, what is wrong?

            Note that the weather symbols are a bit different too.

              @idefix37 Is that the current standard for the product? Personally I expect close to perfection on such issues. It doesn’t have to be fixed right away but it should go on the bug list. Cmon man.

                For me there are more important points to improve. I don’t know if 2 rain drops makes a big difference compared to 1 drop. And are you sure that the widget on you device is always perfectly synchronised with the detailed forecast.
                By the way these drops could be replaced by a daily quantity in mm (or inches) instead of these symbols. That would be much more useful.

                  @idefix37 If you don't think the feature is important than I would say delete it rather than let it continue in haphazard way. I don't mean to be overly negative but the big changes to the weather radar slider didn't add any value to me. I'd rather existing features are working well before adding new ones for the sake of change.

                    It's a pretty reasonable expectation that the app presents the same info in its various views. Only the app knows which is "right" and which is "wrong". Maybe the widgets have different refresh cycles but the weather symbols are consistently different.

                    @idefix37 do you speak for Windy? @filip_k I believe you are staff - can you comment?

                      No, I'm not speaking for Windy. Just on my own behalf.

                        Hello,

                        I’m sorry about the confusion and thank you for reporting this.

                        There are actually two possible reasons for the mismatch:

                        1. Lock Screen widget vs. Home Screen widget
                          This difference can be caused by mixing a Premium and non-Premium instance. Please make sure both widgets are premium instance.
                          We’re planning to merge this into a single instance in the future to prevent this kind of inconsistency.

                        2. Widget vs. App icon differences
                          The difference between the Home Screen widget and the app itself is caused by how the weather icon is computed on the frontend. The app and widgets currently use slightly different implementations (for technical reasons).

                        More specifically:
                        The Premium 1-hour forecast cannot directly display rain/snow intensity using drop/snow icons in the widget, because the icons would be too small. Instead, precipitation is accumulated into 3-hour segments. An icon is then shown only if the accumulated precipitation exceeds certain thresholds.

                        The mismatch you’re seeing is most likely related to these thresholds and rounding of accumulated precipitation values.

                        I will review the current implementation and try to align it more closely with the app’s behavior.

                        Thanks again for pointing this out.

                          @SimonUrbanek I really appreciate the response. To confirm, I am only using the premium widgets. I hope you can make things more consistent in a future release.
