Ability To Change Color Scale by Altitude.
-
Currently, I have a custom color scale that I use for surface winds; it's great. However, that scale doesn't hold up as I go up to higher pressure levels (where the wind speed is much greater) and that causes my scale to be "over the top". I am asking an option to be able to customize the scales for the altitudes. As of now, I have to manually change my colors as I go up.

What is the last step of speed in your custom wind scale? Why can't more steps be added?
If your scale is not suitable for strong winds aloft, it is also not suitable for wind gusts near the center of a hurricane. -
@idefix37 My current scale tops out at 150 kts; but the way I have it is like this. Also worth noting that I have my scale based on surface winds and the colors correspond to day-day life impacts.
Yellow/orange for winds 20-40 kts
Red for 60-80 kts
Pink/Purple for 100-150 ktsThe reason I'm asking for customization by pressure level is due to winds aloft being much stronger. An example: At 500mb, 35kts winds would be yellow on my scale, when in reality, that is fairly light flow at that level.
Thank You

150kt is enough to display the wind speeds at jet stream level i.e. at 250 or 300hPa level.
For additional details on higher speeds, add for instance a gray color range to the purple range in your current scale.At 500mb, 35kts winds would be yellow on my scale, when in reality, that is fairly light flow at that level.
Is it a reason for changing the scale? I can’t see the benefit of setting 16 color scales because Windy offer 16 altitude levels.
Windy developers might make this change. But I doubt many users will use it. -
@ProXpert
For temperature, too.
-21C at 500hPa is normal
but... on surface is very cold.
