Weather radar in parts of indonesia specifically jakarta not showing
-
Hi, i’ve already subscribed a yearly plan in Windy. However, it seems that windy is not showing the weather radar always 0 dBZ and no moving radar. Please help me solve this problem because i rely a lot ain weather forecasts and a meteorological enthusiast.

Hi,
Please check this thread about the radar in Indonesia. -
@idefix37 Thank you, I’ve carefully read your references and it’s sad to comprehend the ongoing issues. Personally, i was wondering if the meteorological agency (BMKG) is gatekeeping the data that prevents Windy from accessing and displaying the real time data? (CMIIW). I also tried to compare other weather apps such as zoom, accuweather and apple weather and it seems that they’re working just fine. I think it’s just Windy that is having the issue. Previously, there were no issues at all when I started using the app in the end of 2025 that led me to subscribe the yearly plan. Seriously speaking, I really rely on windy because it’s a very accurate weather forecasting app and at the same time it’s brain stimulating.
Please fix this issue and I really do hope it can display real-time information soon without having myself to rely on Indonesia’s meteorological app. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Accuweather does not show real radar data. You can easily check it because they display radar-like data in the middle of the Pacific Ocean where there is obviously no weather radar there. This is just estimated from some satellite data.

Apple weather shows real radar data if you select 1h. But not over Indonesia.
If you select 12h you get rain forecast over Indonesia but this is rain forecast by weather model as Windy provide with the Rain, thunder layer.

@idefix37 I see, thanks for clarifying. So are there any steps taken by Windy to resolve this? If so, when will it return to normal again just like before?

Probably @filip_k could give you his opinion on this matter. -

@Suty Hello, has it been fixed already? I’m seeing the white bubbles radar thingy but still it shows 0dBZ

@Hisyam-Fadhlirrahman
In these bubbles you see ‘No data’.
This means that Windy does not receive data from the radar provider.
