Consolidating apps and licensing models
-
Hi folks
I do have a Windy Premium subscription bought via the Apple app store, a Meteoblue premium subscription on my iPad and a Meteoblue premium subscription on my Android phone. So it looks like I'm currently paying three times for similar services.
Over the last months and years you have increased the feature counts within the Meteoblue app bringing it close to the capabilities of the Windy.com ecosystem but with simplified user interfaces.I'm using your stuff for all day forecasting and planning as well as for professional aviation planning.
So I'm wondering when you are going to consolidate the apps (maybe with the option to switch in between a simple and expert mode) and much more when you are going to consolidate the licensing models ( I'm currently a bit pissed to pay three times to cover minor gaps/differences in between your apps (and what really sucks is to pay meteoblue on each plattform separately))
Thx

@tgebhard Hello, there is no plan to consolidate these apps premium tiers now. Windy.com and Meteoblue are still separate companies with their own paid tiers.
I am sorry about this information, since I understand your point of view. Regarding to two tiers for various platforms, you need to contact Meteoblue directly.

Hey @Suty,
Thx for the clarification. Back in June 2024 when the acquisition of Meteoblue by windy.com has been announced I read a press release from you guys that the acquisition aimed to integrate data sources cross the two ecosystems and narrow the app features. But given your statement I see that it‘s majorly to lower operations cost and increase the profit. It‘s a pity that you do not have your premium subscribers in mind with this. It‘s disturbing that you not even managed to establish a single support for the two ecosystems since than.
So I ask for your understanding that I will cancel my subscriptions and will look for a weather data source with a better customer focus.
