Current Temperature

The “current” temperature shown at the top appears to be the forecasted temperature rather than the actual. It often does not come close to any of the nearest weather stations. Would rather see actual temperature there.

If you means the temperature displayed in the top banner when you select a location, indeed it is NOT the current temperature, it is the forecast temperature because the data displayed on the map is provided by a weather model.
Would rather see actual temperature there.
Current temperature is only provided by weather stations. No means can provide the current air temperature at any location in the world. So to know the current temperature you need to look at a weather station near your chosen location.
