I guess you are talking about the Altitude slider. It allows to obtain forecast data at different atmospheric levels.
However, it only works with certain layers, such as wind, temperature, and humidity.
Could you specify which layer you want to use with the Altitude slider and what you mean by “removing layers”. -

Your screenshot shows the mobile version on the interface of a device which seems to be a PC. Why don’t you use the browser version ? What is this device? -
I use a laptop, Windy has been working fine for several years, and now the altimeter has stopped working.

So it is strange to me that you use the mobile app on a laptop, but not the browser version.
I don’t know if it is the reason of your Altitude slider issue.
