      @suty
      During the week-end the widget on iOS was totally inconsistent compared to the app.
      Here are examples with AROME-HD model

      Today

      A meteorologist provided me with similar images using ICON.

      And ECMWF

      Sorry, some of the images are in French, but I think you'll manage.

        Could someone explain why there are such discrepancies ?
        Aren’t the widgets made in the same way as the Basic detailed table? And why is that?

          @idefix37 Hello, I am sorry about the delay with my response, I forgot to inform you on Monday.

          We are investigating it with colleagues from the dev team. Do you see this behavior also after the weekend?

            Yes, yesterday and today on iOS

            IMG_3505.jpeg

            Differences during the week end were higher because of a stormy weather. Rain amounts were really inconsistent.

              @idefix37 Hello again, it seems, that your widgets are non-premium ones, which can cause this difference.

                As I am Premium, my screenshots should be correct ? Or do you mean that they are from the previous run of the model?
                But concerning the meteorologist who send me the screenshots with ECMWF and ICON I’m not sure. I’ll check

                    It seems that these inconsistencies on iOS about rainfall in the widget are due to the fact that convective rains are not added.

                    IMG_3580.jpeg

                    For example on Sunday 17:00 Basic shows 8mm and Meteogram 8mm (convective) + 0.2mm (non convective).
                    The widget displays only 0.2 but the rain graphic shows much more.
                    Same at 20:00 with 0.5 + 1.8.
                    I have several screenshots similar to this case.

                    Convective rainfall can bring large amounts of water that are ignored in the iOS widget.

                      @idefix37 Okay and did you compare the Premium widget with the app, or Premium and nonPremium widgets together?

                        The screenshots in my last message are the non Premium version widget, same with those in my first post.
                        Should I make a test with the Premium widget version ? We have much convective rain here at the moment.

                            @Suty
                            I checked another location where convective rain is forecast. I compare the Premium widget with Meteogram.
                            It is clear that the part of convective rain is missing in the amount per hour in the widget.

                            IMG_3588.jpeg

                            IMG_3590.jpeg

                            Only the figures of non-convective rainfall are displayed in the widget, except strangely at 18:00 (2.2mm).

                            So both the Premium and the non-Premium widgets are showing the same inconsistency i.e. the convective rain amounts are missing in the widget on iOS.

                                    Re. Rainfall radar coverage: Radar coverage area - Calabria, Basilicata and part of Puglia in Southern Italy: On other weather websites this radar is has been and remains fully functional, however for quite a while (more than 3 weeks) Windy indicates that from this radar the data is missing.
                                    See this for comparison (https://www.meteoeradar.it/notizie-meteo/cronaca-meteo-maltempo-ora-tocca-al-sud--d9cc3df2-9363-4275-a696-5de2f4114496)

                                      Some weather apps show radar pictures while they are missing on Windy.
                                      The reason is because Windy offer real radar pictures from weather radar data.
                                      The other apps you mention use some algorithms applied to satellite pictures giving approximate images.
                                      If you like them you can use the radar map from Meteoblue.
                                      https://www.meteoblue.com/it/tempo/mappe/tours_francia_2972191#coords=5.4/40.733/19.292&map=radar~radarMap~none~none~none

                                      Capture d’écran 2026-05-13 à 18.01.12.png

                                      How to know that these are not real radar images? Because they show precipitation in the middle of oceans where there are obviously no radar premises.

                                      @suty
                                      Has the Windy team considered publishing the Meteoblue radar map to fill in areas around the world not covered by real radars?

                                        @idefix37 Hello, this is not planned, since we want to keep only realtime observed data in our Radar layer.
