Forecast accuracy for the south of Gran Canaria
-
I would like to report a recurring issue with the forecast accuracy for the south of Gran Canaria, especially regarding rain predictions and wind intensity.
Very often, the app forecasts rain or cloudy conditions, while in reality the weather is completely sunny and clear. The same happens with wind forecasts: during the night, predictions frequently indicate winds and gusts around 45 km/h, but actual conditions are calm or with very light wind.
This is not an isolated case — it happens systematically in the southern area of Gran Canaria. I understand that weather forecasting is complex, especially on islands with microclimates, but the discrepancy here is consistently significant.
I hope you can review the forecasting models or local calibration for this region, because at the moment the forecasts are often far from the real conditions.
Location: South of Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain.

@roberto-gaspari-2 Hello and thank you for your feedback. First of all, I need to mention that forecasted data in Windy.com are not made by Windy.com. We provide many various forecast models, such as ECMWF, ICON,... so we are not responsible for provided data.
