Hi everyone, I’ve recently noticed that the wind direction in my area sometimes changes very quickly within just a few hours on the forecast map. I’m wondering if this usually happens because of local terrain effects, incoming storms, or simply rapid weather system movement. I mostly use Windy for planning outdoor activities, and these sudden shifts can make conditions feel very different than expected. Have any of you experienced similar situations where the forecast changed direction faster than anticipated? Also, which forecast model do you usually trust the most for short-term wind accuracy? I’d love to hear your experiences and tips for reading these patterns better.

There are so many reasons to explain changes in wind direction. But since you don't say where you observe these changes, showing precise examples, what can we say?
