Feature Request: Improve Precipitation Layer Overlay on Clouds for Better Visualization
-
Dear Windy Development Team,
I am writing to follow up on feedback I submitted over a month ago regarding the current precipitation overlay on the Clouds layer.
I am disappointed with how the precipitation layer is currently presented when combined with clouds. The rendering appears pixelated and is not user-friendly. Instead of advancing the graphical quality of your meteorological data, this specific implementation is difficult to look at and hinders the practical monitoring of precipitation clusters and storm systems.
To resolve this, could you please add a dedicated option to superimpose the standard "Rain, thunder" layer directly over the "Clouds" layer? Ideally, users should be able to display both layers simultaneously, with an independent opacity slider for the "Rain, thunder" layer. This would allow users to customize the blend and create an optimal, smooth animation for the Cloud-Precip model combo.
Thank you for your time and continuous work on the platform. I look forward to seeing improvements in future updates.
Best regards,
AJ

@Avjaco I've noticed this too - it's very annoying. Also - I can't change the cloud settings now, that layer seems to have disappeared when I go to change the colours!
