Two major time zone bugs

There are two bad time zone bugs. I’ve seen several people get very very messed up by these bugs. First, any time the cross hairs are active, Windy jumps to what it thinks the current time is in that location unstead of using the user’s device configured timezone. This is a real problem because 1) most users don’t realize it’s doing this 2) near time zone boundaries it jumps back and forth almost randomly depending on the exact location of the crosshairs 3) Windy’s internal time zone map has HUGE errors. I’m in Tonga and today it has the time zone in Windy is off by 25.5 hours and 4) near the international date line it jumps to a different day. The ideal behaviour would be to ALWAYS use the time zone of the user’s device, because that is what everyone thinks it’s doing. I live on a boat and all my friends live on boats and we all use windy every day.

@svstardust45 Hello, can you please provide more info about this issue? Our app should respect the local time and timezone, so it should work normally and the default time should be yours.

@svstardust45 I've noticed a similar issue with the crosshair time jumping as well when checking different coastal regions. It definitely gets tricky near the time zone boundaries, especially when tracking weather changes tightly.
@svstardust45's suggestion about the app prioritizing the user's device local time as a stable default makes a lot of sense for consistency. Hopefully, adding more specific coordinates or steps can help the dev team pinpoint where the internal map calculation is getting thrown off!
