Unclear Premium Radar Information
-
Dear Windy Team,
I would like to share my disappointment regarding the way the Premium radar feature is presented.
The information about the “12-hour radar loop” is, in my opinion, not clear enough. As a customer, it is easy to understand this as meaning that the radar forecast is available up to 12 hours ahead, while in reality the 12 hours refer to past radar observations, and the radar forecast is only available for about 1 hour ahead.
I believe this distinction should be made much more explicit before purchasing or renewing a Premium subscription. The current wording is misleading, or at least unnecessarily ambiguous.
For this reason, I will certainly not renew my subscription to your service.
Best regards,

Hi,
The radar loop is an animation generated from radar echo images received over the past minutes or past hours.
A weather radar is an observation tool, not a forecasting tool. So any projection into the future relies solely on extrapolation from the last image of the loop. Extrapolating for the next 12 hours is therefore unrealistic.
