I love the Live Alerts feature! I have a suggestion to make it even more helpful:
Could you add the weather system cause to rain alert notifications? For example:
🌧 Heavy Rain - Caused by the Habagat | Heavy rain starts in the next hour
Or:
🌧 Heavy Rain - Caused by ITCZ | Heavy rain starts in the next hour
Or:
🌧 Heavy Rain - Caused by Typhoon Bavi outer bands | Heavy rain starts in the next hour
This would help users understand whether the rain is from a normal weather pattern (like Habagat or Easterlies) or a more dangerous system (like a typhoon or shearline), allowing better preparation and less panic.
Also, please add separate alert tiers for light and moderate rain with gentler notifications!

The first is about tiered rain alerts (light/moderate/heavy). The second is about showing the weather system cause (Habagat, ITCZ, etc.) in notifications. They're related but separate suggestions. Hi,
You want Windy to explain the reasons and origins of rainfall by linking it to specific synoptic weather events. But who could provide that kind of data? Weather models aren't capable of such a feat; only human meteorologists could do it—and for every weather event across the globe. Just imagine how many people would need to be dedicated to that task around the clock !
I am not sure that AI is ready for such a task everywhere in the world. -
@idefix37 I'm sorry, I didn't know that adding weather systemcauses would require human meteorologists to analyze every event globally. I thought it was something the app could do automatically.
Thank you for explaining that to me! I understand now why it's not feasible. I really appreciate the work you and the Windy team do.
I hope my first suggestion about tiered rain alerts (light/moderate/heavy) is still possible though!
