How to locate the 588 hPa contour line for subtropical high on Windy?
-
Hi all,
I’m learning to analyze the western Pacific subtropical high using the 500 hPa 588 dagpm contour line, which marks the boundary of subtropical high pressure. I’m confused about the operation on Windy right now.
Could someone tell me the complete step-by-step process:
Which forecast layer should I activate?
How to make the geopotential height contour lines and their number labels visible on the map?
Is there any extra setting to highlight the 588 line for subtropical high easily?
Attached is my current screenshot; I only see lines marked 442, 476, 510, 578 and no 588 labels. I’d really appreciate your detailed instructions. -

In my screenshot the 588dam (5886m) contour line is displayed.
Select Wind layer, but you can also use Temperature, Humidity or Dew point layers.
Enable Isolines of geopotential height and set the Altitude slider to 500 hPa.
