Feature Request: Add an “Always Off” option for the automatic top information panel

Hello Windy.com Team,

First of all, thank you for developing such an excellent weather application. Windy.com is one of the most useful tools for weather analysis, and I regularly use it to analyze weather forecasts and create educational weather videos.

I would like to suggest a small but very useful feature for the Windy mobile app.

Currently, the information panel at the top of the screen has several automatic closing options, including:

• 3 seconds
• 6 seconds
• 10 seconds
• 12 seconds
• Always On

I would like to request one additional option:

“Always Off”

The purpose of this option would be to prevent the top information panel from appearing automatically.

This feature would be especially useful for users who record weather videos or screen recordings.

When I create weather analysis videos, the information panel can automatically appear from the top of the screen and cover a significant portion of the weather map. Because the panel occupies a considerable amount of screen space, important weather information, map details, and parts of the forecast can become hidden.

This creates a significant problem when recording videos. Viewers may not be able to clearly see the weather map and the forecast information while the panel is covering the upper part of the screen.

During screen recording, I often have to manually close the panel again. This interrupts the recording process and makes it difficult to create a smooth, clear, and professional weather analysis video.

Therefore, I would like to suggest adding an “Always Off” option to the existing automatic closing settings.

The “Always Off” option should work like this:

When the user selects “Always Off”, the top information panel should never appear automatically. It should only appear when the user manually opens it.

The existing options are useful for many users, and I am not suggesting removing or changing them. I am only requesting one additional option that gives users more control over the interface.

The settings could be:

• 3 seconds
• 6 seconds
• 10 seconds
• 12 seconds
• Always On
• Always Off

This feature would be particularly useful for:

• Weather content creators
• Screen recording)
• Educational weather videos
• Meteorological analysis
• Users who prefer a clean and unobstructed map view

An “Always Off” option would allow users to use the Windy map without the information panel automatically covering a large part of the screen. The panel could still be opened manually whenever the user needs to view the information.

I believe this would be a simple but very useful customization option, especially for users who use Windy.com for screen recording and weather video creation.

I have attached screenshots showing the current settings and how the information panel can cover a significant portion of the map during video recording.

Please consider adding an “Always Off” option in a future update.
