      Does the Goes 19-East Satellite being down affect the predictions of Wildfire Smoke and Hurricanes for the Windy prediction maps? Particularly for Sounthern/Eastern New England?

        Looks like GOES-19 is operational again.

        Wildfire smoke - if you are referring to the PM2.5 layer, that's provided by Copernicus and uses the ECMWF IFS model - different models are available depending on region I think.

        Hurricanes - I actually have no idea where they get the data for those...
        @suty Where does the Hurricane data come from? There is nothing in the info blurb.

          @Wheats Hurricane tracker uses more data sources. You can also switch various models to see their own reports:
