Thermal potential for XC flight

I have a question about the "Thermal" layer.
As I understand it, it shows the height of the thermal ceiling—with colors shifting to warmer tones at higher altitudes—but it doesn't indicate thermal potential (i.e., how strong the thermals will be). Am I correct?
It would be really interesting to have a "thermal potential" layer that shows how good (strong) the thermals will be at a selected time, using a color scale ranging from cool to warm.
