On the page, the picker (crosshairs) are fixed on the page approximately two-thirds vertically upward in the map view. So when using the picker to view various weather pages (wind, rain, radar, etc.), the user cannot see much of the map to the North of the picker at the desired zoom level.

It would be much better if the picker location fixed on the page view were centered, rather than as it is currently too far 'north' (or if the user were able to choose the fixed location on the page, rather than as it is currently fixed by default by Windy with no option to change it). For example, if I am viewing active radar for rain storms and precipitation, and storms are coming from the north, then I am unable to see much of what is coming from the north while I'm using the picker/crosshairs to monitor rainfall data at the desired useful location and zoom level. Therfore, in all cases, I'd prefer that the crosshairs be fixed so as positioned vertically centered on the map, rather than vertically so far 'northward'.

      Please advise.

My preferred way to use Windy is via a mobile browser

I wish the picker can be moved anywhere in the the displayed screen. NOT as stationery location (⅓ of the screen?).

      @Wenn-Lach
You are probably referring to the crosshair in the mobile app.
It's quite easy to move the map under the crosshair with your finger.
Using a picker like in the browser version would not be as precise due to the small size of the phone screen and the contact surface of your finger.

@idefix37 of course it is easy to move the map under the cross hairs and it is understood that is how to use them.

But the crosshairs are often in the "wrong" place.

We need to use them in context of seeing surrounding area and 2/3 up the screen is often the worst choice.

My personal ideal: make them fully moveable. Maybe with a long press and drag.
Second best: configurable, 1/3, centre, 2/3.

Hello idefix37, Yes, the feature is referred to as "weather picker" in Windy settings, and is represented by crosshairs on the interface page, indicating a location on the map and providing meteorologic data for that location.

I believe I'm in agreement with Wenn-Lach and with ThadEGinathom, and found this post as I came to search the feedback forum today for a fix for the same issue:] ...

@greenblackblue Hi, there is probably a reason why it is placed where it is.

        1. If you choose "Forecast for this point" the crosshair does not move, meaning it stays in place, right in the middle of the screen when the details for the point takes up half the screen from the bottom up.

If you also have the "Move the map to change the forecast location" option enabled, you can move the crosshair at the same time you have the details on screen and then it really makes sense where the crosshair is placed.

        1. Me personally thinks that if they should change anything on this then place it center in the map (without the forecast point details showing) but then when you show forecast details it absolutely must move so that it remains center, as it is now.

No need to make such long post, we understand what you mean.
@pheur is right in his point #1
The position of the crosshairs in the mobile app is to keep it visible when Forecast for this point is selected.

Then note that I am not a developer, so there is no point in trying to convince me. I’m simply a user with moderation rights. If you want to have this kind of long debate with a member of the Windy staff, keep in mind that they are generally not active on the forum out of office hours CEST.

Additionally you can tap the search tool (represented by the 🔎 icon) at the top of the forum page and enter ‘Crosshairs’ to display all posts and replies from the Windy team about this question. Select the ‘In titles and posts’ option.
