I've just built a Windy plugin (offshore sailing race tracker — course selection, waypoints, boat positions/traces) and tested it thoroughly on mobile web. It works, but the experience is noticeably rougher than on desktop, for two separate reasons:

      1. Native app support

Our actual users are sailing race followers who overwhelmingly use the native app, not the mobile browser. Not being able to offer the plugin there is a real adoption barrier. I understand the security rationale for keeping the native apps closed to arbitrary third-party code — but would it be possible to consider a middle ground, e.g. allowing reviewed/approved public plugins (the ones that already go through your gallery review process) to run inside the native app, even if URL-loaded "untrusted" plugins stay web-only?

      1. Panel gesture on mobileUI: fullscreen

The plugin panel currently only supports a vertical drag (top ↔ closed), with no intermediate "peek" state — a partial swipe-down closes the plugin entirely instead of just collapsing it. I've seen this reported by others too (e.g. topic 33992).

Suggestion: what about supporting a lateral (horizontal) drag as an alternative interaction mode for the panel, alongside the current vertical one? A side-drawer-style panel would let users peek at the map without the same accidental-close risk that comes with the vertical gesture, and would give plugin authors (and Windy's own UI) a clearer, more deliberate open/close gesture on mobile.

Happy to share more details about our use case if useful.

        Native app support

This has been supported for a few months now.
Make sure you have the latest version the app installed
