I like the planning tool, it’s easy to view and better value than predictwind, however I think it needs some enhancement to make it more useable. Only able to work on ECMWF when there are better models for some areas is a drawback. The wave height figure is good to have but without the wave/swell period you can’t be certain it is safe. At the least surely the planner could show better wave data as this is particularly important especially on longer open sea passages.

Which are these better models that you are referring to?In Windy, wave and swell heights and their directions are available and their respective period, but only wave heights and directions in the route planner.
I agree swell data would be a useful addition to the route planner for anticipating cross-seas, specifically when the wind (generating wind waves) and the swell meet at a 90° angle or even more if they are opposite. However, I don’t think that the swell period itself would be particularly useful.
