Windy widget overlay Android

Hi, I've used the search bar for five or six searches and I'm not finding the answer so hopefully this is an okay place to post this question.
I'm having a hard time knowing what this gray overlay is and while it's on an Android I don't know that it's a device specific thing, so I'm not adding all my information in just yet. I'm ready for this to be an obvious answer, lol.

You mean the gray curve? It is the graphical variation of temperature. It corresponds to the values are shown below. -
@idefix37 no I get the curve I mean like the overlay the gray that seems to correlate with daylight but it makes it harder to read and I don't know why it would look like that just to show daylight hours.

it's now obvious it's a feature, I just don't see it in examples of the widget that I have found and I can't see where to turn it off. thanks

It is the duration of daylight, as opposed to night.
I am not familiar with widget settings on Android. -
