Passage Planning

Passage Planning does not work for me.
Using on a laptop as I cannot find the function on phone.
I check that my start and end location are absolutely in the water.
EG Kiel to Medemblik, or even simpler versions such as Cuxhaven to Vlieland.
I ask it to calculate.
Several minutes later it comes back and says that a passage could not be found within 168 hours or some random number.
I can see the passage on the chart. I check the settings include motoring and sailing options.
I promise I am normally pretty good at problem solving tech issues but this one has me stumped.
Any helpful hints? -

I have made a quick test from Kiel (but outside the estuary) to a waypoint north of Denmark, then to an endpoint near the Netherlands (without sailing too far inland, otherwise the planning tool doesn't work).
When waypoints are too close to the land, the Passage planner seems to encounter some limitation as explained by the author of this plugin.
