Why does wind speed change from Basic to Waves & Tide setting?

I noticed this morning that when I switched from Basic view to Waves & Tide the wind speed and gust speed changed.
I didn't move and this makes me not trust the data. Why and how can I prevent this?

Have you checked which weather models were used in both cases ? -
@idefix37 Fanastic spot. So my basic view is using the mblue AI and the Waves & Tide uses ECMWF.
Now which is more trustworthy? I need to make business decisions based on this so any advice? -

If you take “Waves&tides” into account, I assume the location is at sea. Personally, for wind at sea, I would recommend the ECMWF model.
In addition I would strongly recommend to check “Wind”, which compare several models for wind and for gusts.
But note there is an error regarding the model name selected for the map. It is not Meteoblue, but ECMWF, in this example.

No, in Windy, each forecast is identified by the weather model that provided it. Therefore, it is important to check which model provided the data.

That is wrong: the wind data provided by a given weather model for the same point at sea are identical in the "Basic" table and in the "Waves & tides" tables.

@idefix37 Great - I'm actually sea shore (open water swimming) so would you still recommend Wind. Such variability between the models but at least I can start comparing how it feels with the different models.

I recommend "Wind" for comparing different models for wind, but you can also use "Compare forecast" and select waves to compare wave models.
