      Hi Windy Team,

I would like to request the integration of the AMPS (Antarctic Mesoscale Prediction System) model into Windy's available weather layers.

What it is: AMPS is a specialized, real-time numerical weather prediction capability optimized for Antarctica, running on high-resolution Polar WRF (Weather Research and Forecasting) configurations. It is managed by the NSF National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR).

Why it’s needed: Standard global models (like GFS or ECMWF) struggle with the complex, steep topography and extreme micro-climates of Antarctica (such as intense katabatic wind drainage). AMPS provides crucial high-resolution accuracy for researchers, operational logistics, and safety in the polar region.

Data Availability: The model outputs are publicly generated twice daily.

Adding this would make Windy an even more indispensable tool for scientists, aviators, and operational teams working in Antarctica.

      Thank you for considering!
