Charged for trial subscription

I signed up for a trial and cancelled within the trial period but was charged for an annual subscription. I tried to request a refund through Google, but they denied it without explanation.

Are you sure you subscribed to the Premium version of windy.com (red logo)?
There is no trial period for this app.
You might have subscribed to windy.app (blue logo) instead; these are two different companies.
You are currently on the windy.com community forum.
Could you please confirm and provide more details? -
It was the Windy app through the Google Play store.
