Altitude slider docked at the bottom
-
For a few weeks recently, the web version had a horizontal altitude slider docked along the bottom of the map next to the timeline. It was vastly better than the current airplane-icon pop-out: I could scrub through levels and watch winds aloft update in real time, with no extra clicks and nothing hiding itself after a moment.
It has since disappeared and I'm back to click icon → wait for pop-out → adjust → have it auto-hide. As a Premium user doing flight planning, direct, always-visible access to the altitude control is much better than having to go back to the icon over and over again. I was thrilled with the change and was surprised to see it vanish.
Could this layout be restored, ideally as the default or at least a setting? It was the best version of this control Windy has shipped. Thanks to the team for considering it.

@gordonf Hello, the altitude slider in the timeline is still offered in Clear Air Turbulence and Icing layers. The rest of layers still need to use the old one under the offer of layers.

@Suty Ah, so it is. It would be great to add it to the Winds layer as well.
As a pilot for 52 years, I have to say that Windy has become my #1 source for preflight weather awareness. One product I have to go elsewhere for is forecast composite reflectivity. That would be a great addition! (The Windy thunderstorm layer does not correlate well.)

@gordonf Hello again and thank you for the feedback, we are still working on new functionalities and improvements, so we can consider adding this in our upcoming plans. However, for now, I can't promise anything.
