Uploading data via Weather Display using APIv2
-
I've just received an email requesting I update to APIv2 to feed my data to your site.
I'm currently using Weather Display software to upload, how do i update the API to v2, do I just have to get a new key?
As far as I'm aware my WD software is up to dateCheers
Paul

@paulg1977 Hello, if you are using a third party solution, we are unable to help you with this, unfortunately. Please contact the authors of Weather Display with this question.

@marekd
I have installed a new version of WD, it now requires station password and id,
It is uploading ok, how do I know if it's using APIv1 or APIv2 - I can't see anything in my station details on this site that tells me -
@paulg1977 If you had to enter a password and station ID, you are definitely using API v2. But you can check it here: https://stations.windy.com/stations
Click on your station, scroll down to the Connection card, and click the “Show recent requests” button. The URL you see there should be the same as the one in the API v2 reference: https://stations.windy.com/api-reference -

I'm using Meteobridge to provide my data and had the same problem; how do I know if I'm using the v2 API? Below is how I updated it, but the steps should work whatever software you use;- I made sure Meteobridge was updated to the latest version. This changed the available configuration for Windy, a new Station ID was added and the API key was replaced with password.
- Went to my weather station on Windy https://stations.windy.com/stations
- Copied the password and pasted over the original API key in Meteobridge
- Copy the station ID and paste into Meteobridge
- Checked that it was successfully uploading. In Meteobridge it shows success or an error; I'm sure other software is similar. I also checked that the Windy website showed success as @marekd described above ("show recent requests")
Hope this helps people
