Meteogram on a route
-
Hello and thank you very much for this user firendly app! I' m an aeronautical user. I would like to have the possibility to read a meteogram not on a single georaphic point (which is already possible and Nice) but on a route. For exemple on a New York - Washinton. Either at the same time for all the trip (good), or with a time of departure and a travel speed defined by the user, so that I could read the forecast at the sheduled overfly Time (better).
Cet outil serai exceptionnel !Merci

@ollliv
something like that? -
It is called section cuts
-
@ivo
If you plan to improve windy by adding "section cuts" in the future
it would be terrific if the "section cut" could take into account
the departure and arrival time.
In the following example we can see a cut from Prague (take off 18:00 UTC)
to Athens, Greece (landing 21:00 UTC).
-
@meteo-GR How to calculate CAT and FZ areas in the cut?

@ivo
You can find some formulas here:

... I'll search if is there such parameters (turb, icing) in GRIB files.
-
@meteo-GR yes I mean something like that but not nessessary Whith the same Time at each géographic point. I would like to be able to set a take off time and a cruising speed or à landing time.

Exactly like that but with a Windy-friendly design. :)

Are cross sections available in the meantime? The promise is almost 6 years old now… -
@wallpen
It's been available for a long time and is called Route Plannerhttps://community.windy.com/topic/9013/windy-launches-route-planner?_=1686516512270
