Much Anticipated Upgrades from the Canadian Meteorological Centre

Today I got some exciting news from my countries meteorological service (CMC).
On Wednesday, September 6, 2017, the CMC finally finished installing their new supercomputer that they announced last fall. It now packs the equivalent of one petaflop of computing power, which is now comparable to other weather agencies.
And then today at 12z, the CMC upgraded their global GDPS weather model to version 6.0. Which now features two-way coupling with the Global Ice Ocean Prediction System (GIOPS) and better medium range forecasting overall.
