The same misunderstanding with wind direction
-
@TZ
I think you must consider providing wind in the form:
130 (SE) 15 km/h, 090 (E) 12 km/h, 330 (NW) 25 km/h ... -
@meteo-gr Thank you for suggestion, but I am afraid that it will not help. It seems that some people are not familiar with wind direction at all. I have another idea: what about to switch the order of two numbers and write 5m/s, 300° ? @ivo
When people are used to read numbers with units at the end, and I am sure they are, everybody should understand that the wind speed is 5m/s. -
@tz
No !!! in this case most people will interpret 300° as 300 degrees Celsius (or Farenheit) and the situation will worsen!
In general the wind direction is provided here with numbers (and not as N, NE, E, SE ...) for aviation use.

@meteo-gr Degree mark is not important in my suggestion, but the order of the two numbers. It could be "8m/s, 300 (arrow)" or as you suggest "8m/s, 300 (NW)" or even "8m/s, NW (300)". Important part of my idea is that it would be clear what the wind speed is when it is the first number.
