      On Wed.17 Jan. a cyclone is forecasted to "run"
      with the amazing speed of 100 km/h
      from North Atlantic to North Sea (2400 km in 24 hrs !!!)
      We will be keeping an eye on the situation as it looks possibly dangerous.

        You are right, generally speedy cyclones generate strong winds !!

          ... the cyclone is pushed by very strong upper winds (jet stream)
          with the speed of 165 kts at 34.000 ft.

            Another side effect of this:
            Airplanes flying from Europe to North America
            will face strong headwinds.
            That means turbulence, flight delays and increased fuel consumption !
            (or they will chose different route and/or flight level).
