Small Error With NAM Resolution
-
Hello there, I have noticed for a while that the model resolution for NAM seems incorrect. In Meteogram view, NAM is showing 3km but everywhere else its showing 5km. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember Windy upgraded the NAM model to 3km a while ago. I feel like the problem happened around the same time as the ICON introduction. Also, the ECMWF resolution was a bit off as well but its fixed now.

@theradarguy
NEMS is a multi-scale model, so different resolutions used from global down to local domains.

@meteo-gr
NEMS and NAM are too different models. The North American Model is not covering Europe. Just a reading mistake I suppose... -
@idefix37
Yes, my mistake. Sorry ... -
The NAM resolution does seem to be a bit conflicting as it displays as 3km under the Basic, Meteogram and Airgram locations. But it displays as 5km when you click to Compare forecasts and in the toolbar in the lower right corner of the page. As you show there is a 5km NAM from NCEP but also a very popular 3km Nested NAM.
