Rain accumulation for Montenegro

As you mention here
https://www.facebook.com/windyforecast/videos/vb.1590435124517948/2122704081291047/?type=3&theater"Intensive rain is coming for Balkans".
I just want to point out that there are big differences between ICON and ECMWF
on 3days accumulated rainfall for Montenegro.
-
... surely, 300 mm in 3 days is an extreme for the area.
I don't want to imagine the consequences if reached the value of 500. -
meteoalarm
-
... the mean rainfall for Feb. (average for 30 years period) for Montenegro
is aprox. 300 mm -
Rainfall measurments from official weather stations
in Montenegro and Albania (1 ~ 4 Feb.)
-
Also, at NW parts of Greece (rain accumulation for 3 Feb.)

@meteo-gr that's actually almost 2x less than what ICON/ECMWF forecasted.

@michal-koldinsky
Not really. Maybe in some mountainous locations the rain reached the forecasted values.
For example: On Sat 3 Feb, automatic wx stations in high altitude villages
in NW Greece, measured more than 100mm/day
and one station measured 347mm !!!
In general, such accumulated fields must not over-interpreted
and must considered as "guidelines" for forecasting extreme events. Also, keep in mind that "extreme" has different meanings in different places and seasons.
20mm of rain in July is "normal" for Prague but is "extreme" for Athens.
5cm of snow is OK for a winter day in Berlin but is extreme for Cairo.
