Interesting weather pattern over the Balkans

The combination of the deep low (993 hPa) in the Ionian Sea with the high (1024 hPa) over Romania results significant snowfall over the central-north parts of the Balkans. At the same time, strong southerly winds bring warm air from Africa to Greece and the temp. over Crete island is expected to reach 28 C.
