Testing Australian Bureau of Meteorology Color Gradient
-
Hi folks,
recently, I found out that Australian Bureau of Meteorology updated their color gradient due to extremely high temperatures. They added purple color for temperatures above 54 C! So, I decided to try BOM's temperature gradient on Windy. Here is the original BOM's gradient:
Here is the result on Windy:
For those, who are interested in changing their temperature gradient, below are the colors. Go to Menu/Settings/Modify layers colors, change layer to
temperature
, then click on show gradient, copy & paste gradient from below, and click import gradient. And that's it.[[213,[198,235,255,255]], [221,[175,204,230,255]], [229,[140,146,202,255]], [236,[140,146,202,255]], [241,[146,72,171,255]], [246,[141,0,127,255]], [251,[12,19,92,255]], [253,[26,23,125,255]], [255,[44,34,154,255]], [257,[37,60,164,255]], [259,[24,85,173,255]], [261,[24,85,173,255]], [263,[0,114,197,255]], [265,[0,144,197,255]], [267,[0,168,202,255]], [269,[0,183,201,255]], [271,[54,204,200,255]], [273.15,[102,209,188,255]], [275,[130,226,163,255]], [277,[189,238,176,255]], [279,[214,246,194,255]], [281,[234,251,214,255]], [283,[234,251,214,255]], [285,[242,255,207,255]], [287,[250,255,198,255]], [289,[254,253,174,255]], [291,[255,240,149,255]], [293,[255,231,124,255]], [295,[255,220,98,255]], [297,[255,201,70,255]], [299,[255,178,33,255]], [301,[255,158,12,255]], [303,[255,136,0,255]], [305,[255,99,0,255]], [307,[255,53,0,255]], [309,[255,0,0,255]], [311,[245,0,0,255]], [313,[227,0,0,255]], [315,[204,0,0,255]], [317,[172,0,23,255]], [319,[125,0,22,255]], [321,[83,0,22,255]], [323,[28,0,9,255]], [325,[88,0,159,255]], [327,[224,0,209,255]]]

Nice..will try it
-
Do they have a alternate wind gradient too?
-
@Tomber42 I tested it and surprisingly it look nice. However, the wind particles are not visible. Here is the original:
And here is the gradient on Windy:
[[0,[198,241,255,255]], [2.572,[198,241,255,255]], [5.144,[144,218,254,255]], [7.71667,[146,255,164,255]], [10.2889,[89,229,114,255]], [12.8611,[227,236,105,255]], [15.4333,[255,118,59,255]], [18.0056,[245,0,0,255]], [23.15,[164,0,0,255]], [51.4444,[164,0,0,255]]]

@tomslavkovsky
Yes it looks nice ! A little bit like my own settings below !! :-)Concerning the temperature I’m not really interested to change the temperature gradient over 54ºC, but much more in very low temperature range for a better analysis in altitude. I’ll try it later.

Very impressive. Well done.

I'm adding a link to a handy tool, useful if you want to make small adjustments to Windy gradients.

@tomslavkovsky
Nice I’ll use it. -
A more pleasant colors for the binary layers eg: Fog, Thunderstorms
[[0,[69,111,117,256]], [1,[116,221,237,256]], [2,[200,200,255,255]]]

@michal-koldinsky
Can we have the ability for more colors for tstms ? (is not a binary layer).
