      Hi everyone,

      I have the following question:
If the ECMWF model predicts a wind speed for a certain time (e.g. 4 m/s at 3 o'clock), does this mean that the speed was predicted for exactly this time, or is this a mean value (e.g. for the time between 1.30 o'clock and 4.30 o'clock)?

      Thank you very much
      Simon

The wind speed values (every 3 hrs) are INSTANTANEOUS forecast information.
The wind gust values are ACCUMULATED info.

In other term, do you mean that wind speed is the 10-min average speed forecasted at beginning of the 3 hours and the gusts is the max gust forecasted during these 3 hours?
