Widget problems

@the_program Have you please updated to the newest version 33.1.1.5?

@korina said in Widget problems:
@stromseth Hello, this is caused by system issue. The best way to resolve it is to restart your phone and iPad.
Sorry, but no. Restarted both devices several times. Did it again this morning just to be sure.
Still blank. -
@stromseth Hello, after a closer look, we can confirm it is a bug on our side. We will fix it with our next release.

Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G
Widgets no longer auto-update after latest Android update. Manual updating works fine.Checked location permissions and there is no option for "Allow all the time", so I have it set with the most unrestricted setting which is "Allow only while using the app"
Data usage and battery settings are completely unrestricted.
I figured Android made some change that broke the app, but I couldn't find any information about it. Is there anything else I should try, or is this something you are aware of?
Thanks!
-
@akovia Hello, please try to restart your phone and reinstall the app + place the widget again on homescreen.
-
Widget in single row: the coloured bar for wind strength overlaps the temperatures.
(Samsung S21 FE, Android 12) -
@chborris Hello, what version of the app do you have?
-
I am having the same problem as akovia. Android 12, latest update to both os and app. Widget will not auto update. Widget will update if pushed manually.
I have reinstalled the app and widget but this did not fix it. Setting the location manually also did not fix it.
-
@tjasian Hello, some users may experience this problem, since it is an issue of Android OS. We recommend to try steps mentioned in this article - https://www.digitbin.com/widgets-not-updating-on-android-fix/
-
@korina Works now thank you! For anyone else, the trick for me was setting the battery optimization in Apps > Battery - Usage unrestricted.
-
@tjasian Happy to hear it works properly again and thank you for the tip.

For a while now have not been able to display the Windy Widget on iPhone 11 pro or iPad pro, both now running 1OS 15.6
The widget if listed but when selected this error message appears
Despite installing the latest version of Windy from the App Store
-
@snookie Hello, this widget in the side menu is not available for iOS 14 and higher. To add widgets on your screen, press the home screen, tap on the plus button and choose Windy to select a specific widget.
-
@korina ahhh I see what you mean, was hoping to have something like this on the side bar rather than the Home screen.

@junkitt Hi all,
It has been over a year, I think, since my last post.Shortly after that, you came out with an update which included a radar widget for iOS (YAY!!!!!!!!!!) I should have written when that first came out, since I was so vocal about getting one.
So I wanted to let you all know how very happy I am with having your radar widget! It looks great and works just as well as your app does. So now, I hardly ever get into the app because I can see everything in the today view.
This is truly, a marvelous addition to your utilities. And I am so proud to be a premere member and supporting such a wonderful organization. (I just hope that apple doesn't do something to cause it to not work. Shhhhhhhhh...)
I also love love love seeing others using Windy as their radar source!
Thanks, again.
-
@junkitt Thank you, we truly appreciate your support!

@Korina I have the same problem as https://community.windy.com/post/100247, wind bar covers up the temperature numbers in the home screen widget.
In widget settings preview the wind bar is below the temperatures (e.g. perfect).
Pixel 6 Pro, Android 12, Windy 37.1.8 installed from Google Play store. Play is set to auto update.

@Matt-Wilkie Hi. Does this issue persist if you increase the height of the widget?
-
I travel a lot and often my widget location stays in a random place where I spent more than a couple of hours. When force refreshing the widget, location usually updates correctly, but seems to revert to previous one after some time (probably next update cycle?).
Nokia 7.2 with Android 11, latest app version installed (issue has manifested over several months and versions).

@jppalo Hi. These issues will be fixed in next versions. Thanks for the report.
