@ivo said in Help us to test new Weather Radar overlay:

As we are continuously improving Windy, we’ve never stopped thinking to create – and expand – the radar feature. However, this service is depended on various data providers, and each country has a different policy regarding the management of these data (see https://on.windy.com/RadarDataGathering).

So far, our radar layer has been covering the USA (including Hawaii and coastal parts of Alaska), South Korea and a couple of islands in the North Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean.

After a period of hard work, now we are excited to announce that the long-anticipated Weather radar for a large part of Europe is out! Radar is covering the area from Spain to Finland (see this table). We are gathering radar data for other countries and we will be adding them slowly.

          Check this most beautiful composite:

It is great. Is it possible to get cameras overlay on radar page on Android version? Now I see it only on desktop version.

Very useful the weather radar. Very important for tracking thunderstorms too.

Piszę po Polsku, bo jestem z polski. Strona www działa świetnie, radar pogodowy też działa świetnie. Pozdrowienia z POLAND. :)

@gkikas-lgpz strange, I wonder where they get the radar info, it is not identical to my country official radar http://www.shmu.sk/sk/?page=1&id=meteo_radar .. so it seems there are multiple radars that provide different results... now I can guarantee the precision of SHMU, because I use it daily.

You have done a very good job recently with the weather radar overlay in Europe. The provider for France is Météo France. You should also obtain, from the same provider, radar data for french caribbean islands like Guadeloupe and Martinique. These radars could complete the radar on Puerto Rico already available on Windy. These radars should be very useful during the hurricane season in Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico.
There are other radar in overseas french territories, French Guyanna, La Réunion island, New Caledonia.

This is the most useful tool to be able to evaluate what's headed your way in the next few hours. The only thing that would make it even more useful would be to blend it with satellite cloud imagery as well - not as easy as 1,2,3, but a further challenge for the windy programmers!

You need to provide a key showing what each color/symbol means

Great work I started using Windy about a year ago and immediately go to the Radar tracking. I have passed on your site address to a couple dozen friends and family members because it is the best and most comprehensive weather site I have found. Keep up the great work - a Windy fan!

I love maps. I love good graphics.
since I first found Windy I've been impressed.
with the new "weather radar" I'm hooked.

Very nice, especially enjoy the live cam layer. My company does aerial photography and we use this to look for clouds over our projects. (need full sun for best resolution)

What about coverage in Greece? There are so many islands and so much sailing in summer that is highly needed.
