SWIM ACROSS THE BALTIC SEA – the team Beyond the Horizon: Cross Baltic Challenge will attempt a 170 km relay swim from Poland to Sweden
July 24th 2018, six swimmers will attempt – very first time in history – relay swim across the Baltic Sea. With the average water temperature between Polish and Swedish coast currently around 16 degrees Celsius, the swimmers must overcome the challenges of not only uncertain sea conditions, but also hypothermia. A prior relay attempt in 2016 was interrupted due to rough weather conditions. The team will depart from the beach in Kołobrzeg and swim continuously for 170 km, until they reach the Swedish coast. The team anticipates doing so in approximately 72 hours.
A special tracking app using Windy API was issued to allow everyone to follow the relay: http://bit.ly/pozahoryzontcom
